“Power and Privilege” is the theme of the fourth series of BK Author Watercooler Conversations. The weekly conversations start on September 16, 2020 and continue for six weeks. Our relationship to the power and privilege we control is obscured by the way these forces are often invisible to those who control them. Power and privilege are decidedly not invisible to those who lack them. The goal of this series of conversations is to surface these forces and bring them into sharper relief so we can better decide what actions to take as we cooperate to build a world that works for all. The conversations are designed to be reflective and personal. There are plenty of forums to debate public policy. This is not one of those. These Watercooler conversations offer an opportunity to contemplate the power and privilege we hold and what to do about it. The group meets for one hour every Wednesday over Zoom. The Power and Privilege Series starts on September 16th and at noon PT/ 3:00 PM ET. Much of the intimate work is done in breakout rooms. We start together and end together. REGISTER HERE for one or more sessions. Upon registering, you will be sent all of the necessary dial-in details and you will also be able to add these events to your calendar. The conversations are facilitated by BK Author John Kador (BK Book: Effective Apology). The group is open to anyone connected with the BK community. Regular participation is encouraged but you may drop in as your schedule allows. Physical distancing will not stop BK Authors from reaching out to each other to be reminded that we are not alone, that we are part of a network, and our goal—connecting people and ideas to create a world that works for all—is achieved one conversation at a time. If you’re feeling isolated in any way, this group may be for you. Contact me with questions or suggestions. John Kador 630-440-6962 [email protected] |
